5 MINUTE MAKE-UP
From Yuck to Yey in a flash!
5 minutes? Yes, that’s what I said. That’s all you need to go from yuck to yey!
If you’re anything like me, you like to look fairly presentable on the morning school run. But maybe you hit snooze one (or three) times too many! Maybe you forgot to pack the lunch boxes for the kids the night before? Maybe you’re just not a morning person? I tick all of those ‘maybes’ but somehow still manage to get out of the door in time to make it to two school drop offs! Hoorah!
Lately though, my make-up bag has been looking a little meh. Everything was starting to run out or get cloggy. Enough was enough. I decided to give it an overhaul and because I’m a mum of two little monkeys and really don’t have cash to splash on things like fancy make-up, I chose only essence cosmetics. Bargain make-up at it’s best!
I love essence and usually get nail polish from them, but never a foundation or concealer.
I ended up with the following in my basket ready for purchase:
- Super Curl Volume Mascara in Black
- Eyebrow Designer pencil in Dark Cocoa
- Fresh & Fit Awake Primer
- Mosaic Blush in #35 Natural Beauty
- Fresh & Fit Awake Make-up in #10 Fresh Ivory
- Butter Stick in #2 Sweet Frosting
- Stay All Day 16 Hour Concealer in #20 Soft Beige
Now, I’m not one to mess about with make-up as I usually only have about 5 minutes to myself to get presentable in the morning before the school run. I promise you this only took a measly 5 minutes…I’d even bet a bottle of vino on it!
The Fresh & Fit Awake Primer was first up and it’s so easy to apply. I just rubbed it in like a moisturiser. It’s yummy. Then a few dollops of Fresh & Fit Awake Make-up blended in with my foundation brush. A little extra concealer under the eyes to hide the fact that I don’t get much sleep at night! Then the blush, a nice healthy pink glow that blends super easily.
Quick quick…gotta hurry…
I skipped eyeshadow and used the eyebrow pencil to line my top lashes before applying the mascara. I love this mascara. I’m super picky with it comes to mascara but this is wonderful. Happy days.
A quick fill in of my eyebrows and a slick of lip butter and voila…I’m done!
It took me longer to write all this than it did to apply everything! Ha ha!
I was pretty chuffed with the results. What do you think? For bargain make-up, everything felt lovely to apply and made me feel put together and ready for the day. Yet, I still looked like me. Perfect!
I can’t believe I’m posting the ‘before’ picture, but hey, in the interest of showing you how well essence products work, I am! I’ll just go pour myself a nice big glass of wine now!
What’s your favourite bargain make-up product?
Bye for now
By the way…there hasn’t been any retouching, however on BOTH before and after photos, I used the vivid cool filter on my iPhone.
P.S. If you like what you read, please share this post so others can enjoy too and I can keep the ‘wine’ flowing!
