Tailwind Tribes are available to anyone who is a Tailwind member. If you haven’t joined already, you can do so here! You can even use Tribes on the free account, yey!, with various ‘power up’ options being offered if you upgrade your account.
If you love your Pinterest as much as me, you’re probably part of a few Pinterest Group Boards…essential for any blogger worth their salt who wants to grow their blog and their reach.
Tailwind Tribes are the Pinterest Group Boards of Tailwind. You can use the Tribes, relevant to your niche, to grow your reach. Depending on the size of the Tribe, you could get your pins to reach an extra million (or more) people, which is phenomenal!
Before I started to use Tailwind and Tailwind Tribes, I was averaging 400 monthly unique viewers on my Pinterest account. Now, 3 months later, it’s up to 150,000! Whaaaaat?
I know, right! Blew my mind too!
I’m still a long way off the reach of the top bloggers who have millions of views, but I’m growing every week…a lot…and I know that’s because of my pinning strategy with Tailwind.
Because you can choose the Tribes you want to be a part of, you can actively promote your blog to people who you know want to see what you have to show them! Plus, they are more likely to share your pin as it’s relevant to them and their followers too.
Tribes also allow you to discover new content that you can pin to your account, therefore always ensuring you are finding and pinning the best and newest content. This is paramount to growing a successful Pinterest account, and subsequently a successful blog. Pin your new found content using the Tailwind scheduler and watch your account grow.
What to do…
Click on Find a Tribe.
Either type in your preferred topic, or explore the suggestions as shown in the shot below.
If you want to explore Family for example, Tribes will further breakdown the niche as shown below. Tribes can be as broad or as targeted as you like…
I clicked through to Motherhood and below shows how your Tribe options are presented. Some Tribes are open to join without any prior approval. Some will require you to request to join. You can see that a lot of information is given for each Tribe.
Follow the Tribe rules! Just as with Pinterest Group Boards, there are rules for most Tribes. Make sure to familiarise yourself with the rules before you start.
Personally, I have a mixture of large and very active Tribes along with smaller Tribes that are just starting to grow. I obviously want to grow my blog which is why I use the large Tribes, but I also want to help others grow too, which is why I opted to join some of the smaller Tribes. #bloggershelpbloggers
To help you share blog posts to Tailwind, you may want to install the Tailwind browser extension for Chrome/Safari/Firefox. Next time you’re scheduling your pins, you will see an ‘Add to Tribes’ button…
