THE #1 TIP WHEN TRAVELLING WITH KIDS…

Are you worried about flying with your children? Think it will be a nightmare in the air? Fear not. This #1 tip will keep you all sane on the plane!

I have been travelling with my children for years

My daughter was only two months old when we took our first flight. It was just her and I, on a 12 hour journey from Dubai, UAE to Norwich, UK via Amsterdam, Holland! Hectic right? I bet some of you are getting the heebie geebies just at the thought of it.

Truth be told, I was too excited to be taking my daughter back to my childhood home to meet everyone, especially my sister and my Dad, for the first time (My Mum had already met her first grandchild on a recent visit to Dubai). I didn’t have the brain space left to worry about the logistics of flying solo with an infant.

As travel day approached and as it started to dawn on Hubbie how much he was going to miss his two ‘girls’ for the next week before he joined us, I felt I had to be strong for him. I couldn’t be a worrying wreck of a mother. He had to have faith in the fact that I would be okay and look after our precious bundle until we were all reunited.

Before I knew it we were checking in, pram tagged, suitcases on the conveyor belt and boarding passes in hand. We said our teary ‘see you soons’ to Hubbie and off we went, me and my girl against the world!

So what is this #1 tip I’m keeping you hanging on for?

It’s really quite simple…

RELAX!

Yes, that’s it. Relax!

No magic ‘must-have’ accessory. No magic formula to make your baby sleep through the whole trip. No affiliate link to an expensive product on Amazon! Just my little tip, for what it’s worth, that got me through many flights with children!

Travelling with a baby? You NEED to do this! Stay sane on the plane with this top tip. #travelling #traveling #flyingwithkids #infanttravel

Relax!

It’s the #1 tip that also got me through travelling with my daughter and her new brother on my own. She was three at the time and he was 5 months old. Again, we flew from Dubai to Norwich, via Amsterdam, with a four hour layover at Schipol. But, do you know what? We were fine! We had each other, we enjoyed the trip and we made it work. Because we were relaxed and happy!

Stress is a bummer, and your child will pick up on your stressy vibes in an instant! A stressy Mamma equals a grumpy, teary, cranky, difficult child. So take all that out of the equation and…RELAX!

Now off you go…book that flight with your newly acquired wisdom and let me know how your trip goes. I’d love to know!

Happy travels!
